Strict Paleo/Zone Day #2
Better, But Still Room For Improvement
O.K., actually managed to eat today, thanks to the yield of last night’s beef jerky experiment.
No workout today as I’m resting some sore (in the bad way) biceps and I had to get up at 2 am to take the beef jerky out of the oven.
What I Ate
Breakfast
- 8 strawberries
- 2 egg
- 3 pieces of ham, diced and mixed with the eggs
- dried mango
Snack
- raw nuts/dried fruit trail mix
- beef jerky (equivalent to ~2oz round steak)
Lunch
- 4 chicken tenders
- dried mango
- 7 almonds
Snack
- raw nuts/dried fruit trail mix
- an apple
- beef jerky (equiv to ~2oz round steak)
- 10 almonds
Dinner
- 10 almonds
- 3 eggs
- 3 slices of ham
- a banana
Summary
- Fat: 93g (way high) [39%]
- CHO: 165g (a bit low) [31%]
- Protein: 156g (a bit high) [29%]
So the ratios aren’t perfect (yesterday was better), but if I’m going to mess up, I’d rather be low on the carbs and a bit higher on the protein/fat. Went shopping tonight, so I should be able to better manage it in the days to come.
Also, I could eat and/or drink only dried meat, dried fruit, nuts and water for the rest of my life and be happy.
